Five centuries have passed since Ludovico Ariosto wrote and dedicated to the Este, the lords of the city of Ferrara, a novel in verse entitled Orlando Furioso in which he told of the troubles that afflicted Charlemagne when Orlando, the strongest and most valiant of his knights, lost his head for the beautiful Angelica

In short, those stories of kings and princesses, wizards and witches, orcs and knights, spread from Ferrara to the rest of Italy, being told to crowds in towns and villages crowds who where fascinated by the adventures and misadventures of the "gallant Orlando."

Adventures that, despite the passing of time, still fascinate and amuse the reader, transporting the reader to a world populated by cruel sorcerers and generous generals, giant cannibals, winged horses, invisible castles, touchy kings, intrepid knights, and - above all - princesses determined to only obey the law of one's heart.
